My style is classy and unpredictable –Vixen

Still in her 20's, Yvonne Ekwere has, made a huge success of her career. Popularly known as Vixen, the young television presenter boasts a large fan base in spite of her relatively short stint in the broadcast industry. A two-time nominee of the prestigious Future Awards, Vixen in 2010 won the Dynamix Awards as TV personality of the year and just some weeks ago won the 'FAB Awards TV Presenter Of The Year'.
In this interview with Kehinde Falode, she shares some of her personal and fashion secrets
BEYOND the face many people see on television, can you tell us more about your background? I am the seventh of seven children from Akwa Ibom State; I am the last child and niece of legendary actress, Liz Benson. I schooled at Air Force International School in Victoria Island, Lagos and I also attended Holy Child College and Lagos State University. I am a very easy going person; I love to have fun and when I am on the red carpet, I love to look good and outgoing. But again when I am away from the cameras, I am a very shy and introverted person.
How do you like to spend your money?
My money goes into my savings account. When I am not spending on clothes or investing in one thing or the other, my money is safely kept in my savings account
Does looking good affect your monthly income?
It does a great deal! Because when salaries come in and I see something that I like and I really want, I spend on it and I buy it no matter how much it costs.
Are you crazy about labels?
I am not crazy about label; I am crazy about how a design looks, how it feels, the texture and the quality. Labels are just names to me, names of people who I don't know. So, if it looks pretty, beautiful and I can afford it, I will go ahead and buy it.
What is the most important thing that has ever happened to you?
Winning the FAB Awards as the TV Presenter of the year was very important for me. I didn't believe I was going to win, but I did and it was amazing. So far, that has been the highlight of the year for me.
How about your saddest moment?
When my dad passed away in 2006, I didn't get the chance to reconcile with him. That was the saddest period of my life.
Describe your style
My style is very classy and it is not predictable. I may be a pop chic today and I may be a real diva tomorrow, so, it changes. But one thing I like to keep as a trade mark is the classic vintage look. Even if I am wearing the trendiest thing, I like to keep it classic.
How many hours do you spend in front of the mirror when dressing up?
I actually don't spend much time! Plus make-up marks one hour; that is the only thing that takes much of my time.
